    1. What is Free To Air (FTA)?

Free to Air (FTA) satellite receiver refers to receivers that are designed to receive unencrypted FTA satellite transmissions. Free to Air (FTA) channels are digital channels that are not encrypted by the service provider and require no subscription or monthly payment. They are provided free of charge by the provider and are received with an FTA receiver.

    2. How do I install the Free To Air (FTA) receiver? How do i set up a FTA system?

Theoretically this is simple. You need a receiver, some wire, a digital satellite dish (c-span dishes are not recommended). You will need to know where to point your dish, the frequency and LNB specification of your dish, the LNB requirement & frequency of the FTA (Free To Air) broadcasting Satellite that you aiming at. Once you have all that info, match them up in your receiver's setting. Most receiver would indicate whether or not you have a good signal. If you have everything setting correct for FTA (Free To Air) broadcasting Satellite, everything should work fine.

    7. What dish can i use?

You can practically use any digital satellite dish as long as you know the specification of the dish and LNB that you use. Remember, as long as you can match the correct dish setting between the receiver and the dish LNB, and have the dish pointed at the correct direction, it will work.

    8. Can i use a direct TV dish, or a fixed position multiple LNBs dish?

Please refer to the answer above. Keep in mind that if you are using a dish with a fixed position multiple LNBs, the spacing between those LNBs and the curvature of the dish itself MAY NOT allow you to apply that dish to a different set of satellite that it was not originally manufactured for.

    9. Where can i find software updates, upgrade, or patch program for FTA receivers?

We highly recommend you to go to the official manufacturer's website to find any new update program. Remember, if you install any file that is not released by the manufacture, you can damage your receiver, your equipments, and also void your limited manufacturer's warranty.

    10. Can i split an existing line to run 2 FTA (Free To Air) satellite receiver?

Yes. It is possible to split an existing line by using a line splitter made for satellite, cable tv splitter will not work. However, we do not recommend using this method. Satellite splitter do not always work well with FTA (Free To Air) receiver. You will end up losing channels and or signal if it even work. The best way is to run another line that go directly from your dish LNBs to your second reciever.
